The Couse comprises of classroom teaching, clinical training, research activities, presentations, case discussions and culminates in a dissertation on a topic of choice. Post graduate students shall be trained to acquire responsibilities in the advanced management of patients with ethical standards of practice. They will be made to actively involve themselves in seminars, case presentations, journal review meetings and clinical discussions. Every MPT candidate will be required to create lesson plans and teach undergraduate students under supervision of regular faculty. In addition they will conduct research activities under the guidance of the research supervisors.

Attendance

To qualify for the Semester examinations, all students should have a minimum of 75% attendance in each subject separately. Failure to complete this requirement will lead to the student being barred from the examination. Decisions of the Attendance Review Committee of Amar Jyoti will be final in this regard.

Examinations

University examinations will be held at the end of each semester. The students will be considered to have successfully completed the course only if he/she has met all attendance requirements, successfully passed all theory and practical examinations, and successfully completed their dissertation requirements. The pass percentage is 50% for both theory and practical examinations.

Internal Assessment

30% of marks in all subjects are awarded through Internal Assessments. The Internal assessment marks will be based on average of regular class tests/assignments/ seminars/ micro-teaching (under the supervision of faculty)/ attendance.

Dissertation

It is mandatory to all students to fulfill all dissertation requirements by the end of fourth semester. The institute will allot a research supervisor to each student. It is expected from each student to report to his/ her guide on regular basis for the discussion and finalization of dissertation. Regular progress report should be submitted by the students. 


Synopsis of dissertation should be submitted by the end of first semester to the Amar Jyoti Institutional Review Board (AJ- IRB). Approval of AJ-IRB is required to conduct the research study. Final dissertation should be submitted in prescribed format by end of fourth semester.
