Camp Report 17 Sept 2022

Amar Jyoti Institute of Physiotherapy, University of Delhi conducted a one day camp on 17th September 2022 at Vivekanand School, Preet Vihar. This camp was celebrated to felicitate outstanding work of school teachers in shaping and making future of our children especially during COVID 19 .The main aim of this camp was to examine their physical fitness level as an impact of Work from home working culture during COVID pandemic.

Total number of 35 teachers was tested for their physical fitness and each of them is advised for home exercise programs according to their needs.  Physical fitness examination includes body composition analysis, muscle strength, endurance, flexibility and balance measurements.  A software based machine (Body composition analysis) was used to analysis fat percentage and lean body weight. Similarly hand held dynamometer was used for checking muscle strength of shoulder rotators, knee and hip extensors , bilateral hand grips whereas body flexibility was tested via sit and reach test . Curl ups in 90-90 position and Superman position in prone was used to determine flexor and extensor muscle endurance respectively. Time duration for which a person can stand on single leg without support was used to examine balance.

Participant finding of this camp suggests that most of the school teachers belong to an age group of 25-45 years. Most of them are having with less flexibility and poor hand grip strength. Almost 75% of school teachers found to have good balance of body fat ratio in their body.
